No ads. No chat. No tracking.
CodeSwitch Academy is made for children aged 8 to 11, so we left out everything that doesn’t help them learn.
No ads
No adverts, no sponsored characters and no ad networks. Nothing pulls them away from the game.
No chat, no strangers
There are no other players to meet: no chat, no messages, no friend lists and no public profiles. Kids only talk with the game’s characters.
No tracking
No analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising cookies. We never follow your child around the web, and we never sell data.
Nothing to buy
Coins are earned by playing and spent in the game. No real-money shop, no loot boxes and no pop-ups asking for payment.
As little as possible.
Only what the game needs to work. It is never sold, and never shared for advertising.
For the grown-up
Your name and email, so you can sign in and we can send your sign-in details. Passwords are stored scrambled, never as plain text.
For each child
A nickname, a card color and a grade. No last name, email, birthday, photo or location.
Their progress
Quests, skills, badges and time played, so they can carry on from any device and you can see how they are doing.
Every account is walled off: it can only ever see its own children.
Grown-ups stay in charge.
- Every account is approved by hand. Parents and teachers request access, and we check each request ourselves.
- Children never sign in alone. A grown-up signs in, then each child taps their own card. Children need no email or password of their own.
- Remove a child at any time. On your family page, Remove deletes their profile and all their progress for good.
- Close your account whenever you like. Email us and we delete your account and everything in it.
- Videos from our own site. The short lesson videos play from CodeSwitch itself, never YouTube, so there are no recommendations or comments.
Ask us anything.
If anything about safety or your child’s data isn’t clear, email hello@codeswitch.academy and we will answer.
